Brass Balls - Fastest Popper Etude #6 Ever

Etude for Solo Cello No. 6

Dmitry Yablonsky (cello)

All cellists know the 6th Popper etude from undergrad auditions, one of the standards most schools ask for. However, I have never heard it played as fast as this one by Dmitry Yablonsky…at a tempo reminiscent of Rostropovich’s infamous Dance of the Elves on youtube. Note the time….he finishes the entire etude in 1:41. Not that I’m saying I would play it that way or all the notes are in tune or its musical…but it's an impressive attempt to say the least. Let me know if you guys have heard someone play it faster…but I don’t think that’s even possible.
